School’s Board Suspends Cross Country
After struggling to field full teams for a number of years, Canyonville Christian Academy’s board voted to suspend the sport of cross country.
Since 1962, the Pilots have won 29 district championships and sent more than 40 teams to state. The school had five individual state champs (Bill Castro, Mike Mason, Rose Gilbert, Mike Webster and Matt Knight) and won the Oregon state team title four times (boys: 1977 & 1992; girls: 1970 & 1998).
