Junior Pie Auction
by admin
The Junior Pie Auction is one of the most fun and anticipated events at Canyonville Christian Academy. It is an annual all-school event that is put together by the Junior class and their adviser. This year’s Junior adviser is Gude Esparza. The Pie Auction is a fundraiser for the Junior class to help raise money for their Junior/Senior banquet (JSB) in the spring.
For the Pie Auction, students go to the homes of faculty and staff and bake sweet treats together such as pies, cakes, cookies, brownies, etc. to sell at the auction. Faculty, staff, and local business’ also donate desserts, dinners, or other items to be auctioned off. Each year the Junior Pie Auction has a different theme. This year’s theme was Alice in Wonderland.
Each person at the auction is given a paddle and if there is an item they would like to bid on they raise the paddle. Every item is read off by the auctioneer with a starting bid price. The prices rise depending on the items desirability. This year Mrs. Deck’s five-course meal for 5 students and Mrs. Stansberry’s beautiful raspberry filled chocolate cake were the top sellers of the night.
*Thank you for supporting Canyonville Christian Academy’s Junior Class & for making this year’s Junior Pie Auction a great success!
